Hi, I'm Lisa Bartley (nee Fletcher), a fully qualified and insured Equine Sports Massage Therapist working throughout the Midlands area. I was trained by Mary Bromiley FCSP, SRP, RPT (USA), leading physiotherapist for horses, dogs and humans.
Ever since I can remember I have always had a love for horses. I first sat on a horse at the age of 3 years old, and since then I never looked back. I went for weekly riding lessons until the age of 11 years when I had to unfortunately stop due to back problems. From then until I was 17 years I was unable to ride, however I was then told by my chiropractor to start up again to help strengthen my back muscles, I haven't stopped since! I took a part time job working in a small animal vets and enrolled onto the City and Guilds NVQ in Horse Care course at my local riding stables, Truemans Heath Riding School, where I gained Level 1 and 2 (with the help of County Lane stables). I worked at the riding school for 3 years, in this time I also gained ABRS qualifications and taught adults and children how to ride a variety of horses and ponies. I then moved onto a different career path, working in optics, however I missed working with animals, and soon returned to my old job working at the vets. This move gave me chance to study and complete a Body Massage course through the Cartlon Institute, and the ITEC Equine Sports Massage course, it has also gave me chance to study HND Equine Science with The Open College of Equine Studies.
I do not have a specialised discipline, as I love all types of horse's and love watching the way they move and adapt to the job they are asked. It interests me how the muscles develop and work differently depending on the discipline they are trained to do. I therefore massage a wide range of horses from the retired right through to the competition horse.

I am lucky enough to own a variety of animals, my goldfish 'Jacob', my two dogs 'Sky' a Dobermann, and 'Oscar' a miniature smooth haired Dachshund, and my horse and yearling 'Kalesh' and 'Bridget'. I have owned 'Kalesh', a Welsh Cob, since she was 3 and a half years old. I backed and trained her myself, and we have a unique bond with one another. 'Bridget' is a part bred Appaloosa. She is settling well in her new home and is looking forward to her showing and working life. Kalesh and Bridget have two friends also, my mum's horse 'Molly' an ex-hunter and my nephew's pony 'Expresso', a cheeky New Forest Pony.
