When you call or email for a initial consultation I will need to take a few details from you, details of your horse, if you encountering any problems, and of course your vet details. We will set a date and time that is convienent for you and I will fax over a written consent form for permission from your vet.
The initial consultation will take approximately 1 1/2 hours. I will need to take a full history of your horse and will ask you to sign a consent form for authority to massage your horse. A palpative and visual assessment of your horse will be undertaken with them walking and trotting in hand, and in some cases on the lunge or under the saddle. Following this, the application of sports massage techniques will used in accordance to your horse's individual needs. I will then discuss any follow up sessions needed and/or exercises for you to carry out with your horse.
When necessary, I will send a full report to your veterinary surgeon, and will liase with your farrier, trainer, groom, dentist or saddler.
Follow up Consultations
Dependant on your horse's individual requirements, it may be necessary to have follow-up consultations, this will be discussed at the end of the initial consultation and generally can take between 30 mins - 1 hour.
